Singaporeans are getting more and more concerned about the amount of foreign talents and workers present in the country. Although we all know, letting in foreign talents and workers into the country, is for the country's own good and that without them, Singapore's economy would not grow as the rate it is growing now. In other words, Singapore cannot survive without foreign labour. This fact is not exactly a good thing for Singapore as it is over-dependence on other countries and if other countries fall, we will, too. Another thing that disturbs Singaporeans is the fact that the white-collar jobs for us is constantly being threatened by foreign labour. The ministers cannot blame the Singaporeans for feeling disturbed as their jobs are at stake.
Letting in more foreign labour may put the country's reputated safety and cleanliness at stake. The foreign workers can be seen at almost every void deck, grass patch and shopping mall. Wherever they go, they dress scantily and go out in large menacing numbers. Not that I have anything against foreign workers, but they litter around void decks and stare at people when they walk by.
